Avengers: Infinity War has set a new opening record with $250 million on its opening weekend.
This means Star Wars: The Force Awakens, moves to second place with 247.96 million. Of course the winner here is Disney, that now has 9 of the top ten openings of all time. It is only the 6th movie to reach the $200 million mark, but the second this year already with Black Panther also reaching the milestone.
Thanos also conquered most of the world with $380 million from 52 markets (only China & Russia remain) to bring its total worldwide to an incredible $630 million. Top markets include the UK with $42.2 million, Korea with $39.2 million and Mexico with $25.1 million.
All eyes will be watching next weekend to see how well the movie holds and how many more records it can break. With China still to open on May 11th, there is a real chance for the movie to crack the $2 Billion club.
